BIRMINGHAM — After a tightly contested first half, No. 1 Arizona delivered a statement performance by overwhelming No. 12 Alabama in the final 20 minutes, pulling away for a convincing 96–75 win. Trailing slightly at halftime, the Wildcats flipped the switch with relentless pace, physical defense, and elite shot-making.
Freshman standout Brayden Burries led the charge, scoring a career-high 28 points while knocking down five three-pointers. Burries’ ability to stretch Alabama’s defense opened the floor and ignited a second-half run that the Crimson Tide never recovered from. Arizona’s offensive balance was on full display, as multiple players capitalized on defensive breakdowns.
Inside, Motiejus Krivas controlled the paint with a 14-point, 14-rebound double-double, consistently winning the rebounding battle and limiting Alabama’s second-chance opportunities. Jaden Bradley added a steady presence with 13 points and seven assists, keeping the Wildcats organized as they built a commanding lead.
Alabama received strong performances from Labaron Philon Jr., who posted 24 points and 10 rebounds, and Latrell Wrightsell., who added 21 points. However, Arizona’s defensive intensity in the second half disrupted Alabama’s offensive flow, forcing rushed shots and turnovers.
The victory marked another high-profile win for Arizona, which continues to stack impressive results against ranked competition. With depth, shooting, and physicality across the roster, the Wildcats once again showed why they are widely viewed as a national championship favorite.
