TALLAHASSEE — The Miami Hurricanes held off a furious Florida State comeback on Saturday night, escaping Doak Campbell Stadium with a 28–22 win in one of college football’s most heated rivalries.

Miami dominated early behind quarterback Carson Beck, who threw for multiple touchdowns and looked poised throughout the first three quarters. Beck connected with Malachi Toney and C.J. Daniels on big scoring plays as the Hurricanes built a commanding 28–3 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

But the Seminoles made things interesting late. Quarterback Tommy Castellanos led a gutsy rally, throwing two touchdown passes and sparking life back into the home crowd. A late Florida State field goal trimmed the deficit to six, but Miami’s defense came up clutch in the final moments — recovering the onside kick and holding firm to close out the win.

413’s Bottomline

Miami’s early dominance carried the night. Beck and the Hurricanes’ offense were explosive and efficient through three quarters, setting the tone. Florida State’s resilience was impressive. Castellanos’ late heroics showed grit, even when things looked out of reach. Mistakes cost the Seminoles. Turnovers and penalties in the first half gave Miami control, and the deficit proved too steep to overcome. Miami keeps momentum. The Hurricanes remain undefeated at 5–0, reasserting themselves as ACC contenders while snapping Florida State’s three-game win streak in the rivalry.
