PITTSBURGH — No. 9 Notre Dame delivered a powerful performance on the road, beating Pittsburgh 37–15 and moving to 8–2 on the season. The Irish defense set the tone early, and the offense stayed balanced and efficient to close out the win.  Notre Dame jumped out quickly. On their second offensive play, running back Jeremiyah Love broke free for a 56-yard touchdown run, putting the Irish up 7–0.

On Pitt’s very next possession, safety Tae Johnson intercepted freshman QB Mason Heintscheland returned it 48 yards for a pick-six, doubling Notre Dame’s lead to 14 points. The Irish extended the lead just before halftime when C.J. Carr found Malachi Fields in the end zone for a touchdown, making it 21–3 at the break.

In the second half, Notre Dame kept pressure on Pitt. They added a field goal, then another touchdown to push the lead to 30–6. In the fourth quarter, the Irish tacked on another score to finalize the 37–15 margin

413’s Bottomline

Notre Dame’s performance was pure domination they played tough, physical football against a gritty Pitt team. Love’s explosiveness on the ground and big moments from Carr and Fields helped the Irish control the game from start to finish. The defense’s ability to create turnover and pressure was the difference.

For Pittsburgh, the result is disappointing. They never recovered from the early blowout plays and couldn’t find consistency offensively or stop Notre Dame’s run game. The loss likely dims their own postseason hopes.
