BATON ROUGE — The No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies kept their perfect season alive in convincing fashion, defeating No. 20 LSU 49–25 in front of a raucous Death Valley crowd. The win moves A&M to 8-0 overall (5-0 in SEC play), while LSU fell to 5-3 (2-3 SEC) and saw its conference title hopes to take a hit.

Quarterback Marcel Reed was electric, completing 12 of 21 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 13 carries for 108 rushing yards and two more scores. His dual-threat ability kept the Tigers’ defense guessing all night. Reed orchestrated long, balanced drives that wore down LSU’s front seven, and his mobility turned multiple broken plays into explosive gains.

Aggies wideout KC Concepcion delivered one of the game’s signature moments which was a 79-yard punt return touchdown in the third quarter that completely swung momentum in the Aggies’ favor. Running back Rueben Owens added 91 rushing yards and a touchdown, as the Aggies piled up more than 500 total yards of offense.

LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier was sub-par again this week for his team. Nussmeier contributed 168 yards passing with a touchdown, but turnovers and defensive lapses proved costly. The Tigers’ secondary gave up several costly plays that allowed A&M to pull away late in the third quarter.

413’s Bottomline

Texas A&M continues to impress under head coach Mike Elko, displaying balance, composure, and championship-level depth. Reed’s leadership and versatility have transformed the Aggies’ offense into one of the most dangerous units in the country. LSU, meanwhile, remains a talented but inconsistent team. LSU is capable of scoring points but plagued by defensive breakdowns at critical moments.
